Homework: Brainstorming

For our homework from this week's session we have to think up a short or feature length film, inspired by or based around a picture we chose randomly in class. I picked up this particular one, which is a man wearing a type of mask and protective body wear.
My first thought is that this character has survived or is attempting to survive in some dystopian or apocalyptic world. Perhaps there has been a virus which has infected and killed people, or like in Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep or Interstellar, there has been some sort of dust or debris which is harmful to people to be exposed to.
We cannot see his right eye - is he missing it?
His facial expression seems hardened; He looks directly into the camera in a confrontational way. His outfit and demeanor to me suggest that he is a loner/ lone wolf character, with survival instincts which have led to his continued endurance.

We have to think of some kind of scene and write a page of script containing the character/ situation. Because I haven't decided yet whether the apocalyptic occurrence is biological or chemical, and what caused it, I think I will put the scene at a part where this could remain ambiguous. We only see this character alone, and he would be towards the start of this screenplay, and we get a glimpse into his everyday life that he has been forced to get used to. I'd like him to be in an abandoned grocery store, which looks derelict and long deserted. He is taking part in the mundane task of collecting food supplies to bring back to his makeshift, temporary shelter; as he does each time he moves to a new town.
In the scene we watch him browsing though the dusty, semi-bare shelves for staples like canned and boxed processed meals. There isn't any artificial light because of the building's abandonment, so instead he has to rely on the scant amount of sunlight which glows through the glass-fronted entrance to the store.
